52 Planning to Configure Physical Libraries and Remotely Manage the Pathlight VX

Pathlight VX and Physical Library Remote Management

The Pathlight VX’s connection to the customer network enables the system to be remotely configured,

managed, and monitored. If Pathlight VX will be attached to one or more physical (tape) libraries, then the

IP address and network information for the library and library components must be recorded (in Table 40

)

to be able to perform operations on the libraries. Record the requested information for each physical library

that will be attached to the Pathlight VX.

Scalar 1000, i2000, and 10K libraries have an Event Notification feature that forwards information about

events on the library and library’s SNC to the notification recipient. If the Pathlight VX will be attached to a

Scalar 1000, i2000, or 10K library, then information about SNMP settings is required to enable the library’s

Event Notification feature. Record these values in Table 41

Pathlight VX Physical Library Partitioning Details

Use Table 42 to verify that the physical library is licensed to partition per the configuration’s requirements.
