Installing the External Tape Drive

• Data Compression: Enabled

Server

• SCSI Interface Compatibility (DDS-4 drives only): Wide SCSI

4 Connect a SCSI interface cable to the drive.

5 Check the SCSI termination.

6 If the tape drive is the last device in the bus, it should be terminated.

7 Turn on the external tape drive, turn on the computer, and verify that

the tape drive is operating properly by performing a trial backup.

8 Register your tape drive.
