2 On your computer, double-click the HyperTerminal icon (Start> Program> Accessories>
Communications> HyperTerminal).
3 In the New Connection dialog box, enter SNC6101 for a name (any name will do) and click OK.
4 In the Connect To dialog box for the Connect using field, select the COM port your computer will be
using (COM1, for example) and click OK.
5 In the COM Properties dialog box, select these values:
6 Click OK.
To configure the SNC 6101
1 Power up the Scalar 100 and wait until the startup initialization process completes.
Within a few minutes, the RDY LED on the SNC 6101 will start flashing once per second and the Done
executing startup script message will appear on your service terminal.
2 At the service terminal, initialize the SNC 6101 by typing initializeBox.

on how to configure and run HyperTerminal.
CAUTION
To ensure proper initialization of the SNC 6101, allow at least one
minute between a Scalar 100 power-down and subsequent power-up.
Note
SNC 6101 commands are case sensitive. Always enter capital and lower case
characters as indicated.
CAUTION
Use initializeBox only for a new or a replacement SNC 6101. This
command resets the fibre and SCSI channels, clears the device map
and the event log, and disables all enabled features.
