Inserting Tape Cartridges into the Load Port

With the load port door open, place the tape cartridges in any

available load port magazine slot (see figure 20).

If the magazine is out of the load port, load the tape cartridges

into the magazine, then load the magazine into the load port.

The proper orientation for tape cartridge insertion is shown in

DLT/SDLT Cartridges

on page 19 and LTO Cartridges on

page 21.

Rotate the load port drum 180

so that the load port handle

faces you (see figure 22

Manually close the load port door by pushing the load port

assembly so that it is flush with the front surface of the library.

You will hear a “click” when it locks into position.

Warning:

Take care to keep fingers out of load port openings

when opening or closing the load port door or when

rotating the load port drum.
